The Plot: Martin Joubert (Fabrice Luchini), an ex-Parisian well-heeled hipster passionate about Gustave Flaubert who settled into a Norman village as a baker, sees an English couple moving into a small farm nearby. Not only are the names of the new arrivals Gemma and Charles Bovery, but their behavior also seems to be inspired by Flaubert’s heroes.

Review: I smiled all the way through the movie. It is a funny film not necessarily a big belly laugh movie but an exciting and amusing one.

It’s loosely based on a classical French literature story told in our time. Parallels are made with Gustave Flaubert’s “Madame de Bovary” and it’s brilliant. I like how their lives mimic life in art but with a twist.

Fabrice Luchini is amazing in this movie. He was touching and funny at the time. Gemma Atherton can act in French! She’s cute and emulates a lot with her face. She’s also gorgeous, sexy, and has an incredible body.

The ending of the movie is just great. I loved it.
