The Lightkeeper’s Love Affair by Gabbi Grey | Audiobook Review

Ben

I just graduated. I should be out celebrating. Instead, a storm’s coming and I’ve got no place sleep except the backseat of my car. At least I have my beloved beagle with me, but seriously, how is this my life?

Isaac

After a horrific week, I hate being unable to retreat to my island sanctuary. Perhaps sharing my hotel room with a stranger in distress and his dog will take my mind off things. Afterward, we’ll separate and never meet again. Right?

How was it?

Short, sweet, and uplifting. For a love-at-first-sight story, it reads very plausible as if it was a retelling of an actual couple’s first encounter and subsequent relationship. I like how everything in both Ben and Isaac’s lives lined up almost perfectly to allow them to be together while keeping it grounded and feeling like they were in right place at the right time.

This is my second Gabbi Grey read and I connected to this story far quicker and easier than Stanley’s Christmas Redemption, who was also narrated by Micheal Dean and also dealt with an instalove aspect to it.

Rating: 3 out of 5.
