The Maze Runner (book1): I finished reading the Maze runner after years of letting it sit there unfinished. To be honest, it was knowing the movie was coming out soon that pushed me to finish it.
It was a brilliant idea on James Dashner’s part to have the characters of the glades speaking with their own vocabulary. I was slightly disorientated by it like Thomas was that’s how I first related to Thomas’s character. Dashner managed to create a main character you easily relate to, you cheer for him, and you want him to succeed. Thomas is very realistic in that sense but then the setting and how the story plays out did not hook me. I haven’t fallen in love with the series yet. I sometimes put the book aside for days. I will read the second book and I’ll definitely watch the movie because I think the movie is going to be great. It’s a very visual book so making it into a movie makes senses.
If you’ve read the book recently or years ago what did you first think of it? And are you excited for the movie to come out?
