It’s a comedy directed by Miguel Arteta and starring Steve Carell, Jennifer Garner, Dylan Minette and Ed Oxenbould. The film is based on Judith Viorst book of the same name.

Plot: Alexander’s day begins with gum stuck in his hair, followed by more calamities. Though he finds little sympathy from his family and begins to wonder if bad things only happen to him, his mom, dad, brother, and sister all find themselves living through their own terrible, horrible, no good, very bad day.

Review: It’s a nice comedy that will make the kids laugh without completely boring the parents. There’s a sense of family and fun in this movie, there’s no much else to say be it’s about the same Disney type of comedy but with some new gags.

Personally, I expected to laugh more than I did but I enjoyed the movie. My expectations were not through the roof for this movie, let’s be honest I’m not the target audience, but the cast was entertaining and sold the story. I was afraid that there would be too much of a mystical / Magic element since Alexander wished all of it on his family but they chugged it down to coincidence, in my opinion.
